MyMusingsSangSpeak - Keep in Touch

Keeping in touch- how very important it is for the people who are separated by distances. Many of us feel that there is no need to reinforce the friendship, love, camaraderie and relationship by writing letters or calling. There is absolutely no need to say it over and over again. I was one who always believed in writing letters and keeping in touch. Letter writing is almost essential to the existence of a soldier. “Sandese Aate Hain”- every letter is like breath of life. Of course, I am talking of the times when there were no phones, mobiles and internet. So, today, the letter has been replaced with a phone call, sms or email. The art of letter writing is slowly vanishing. Oh! How we waited for the letter from home, informing us about the well being of our near and dear ones! And yes, there is another viewpoint as well, that no news is always good news. Many people, who are lazy, advocate this point of view.

One does feel homesick when one is away from home and nearest relatives and friends. I was newly married and had left my hometown to a remote corner of the country due to my husband’s posting and I expected that all my relatives must write to me. I always told my younger brother, especially, to communicate and he asked me whether it is very important to express your feelings through letters only. Does love cease to exist just because one does not write and communicate? This same brother of mine realized the importance of keeping in touch when he left the shores for the US and was terribly homesick. He wrote me an eight paged letter, back to back, which I have still preserved to date. So folks, do keep in touch always and communicate and reciprocate in time, lest you might find yourself cut off from your relationships. Letters, smses, emails become the lifelines for separated lovers. Do give the appropriate oxygen to these lifelines by keeping in touch at all times.

Oh God....So much philosophy there...I don't know about whether my bros n sis' will ever write letters, but I'm sure we'll stand by each other in times of need....and for the very question of expressing your emotions, the one expressed would last for the number of days...You've got to make small things special ..letters or no letters...love always remains!......I'm so sure, in heart of hearts you;re saying.....'You've totally taken to Pops na...."HA HA HA>......Gotcha...even I know you as well as you do!
